Maritime Academy Trust Admissions Consultation for 2026/27

Maritime Academy Trust Admissions Consultation for 2026/27

Maritime Academy Trust is conducting a statutory consultation on the proposed admissions arrangements for the academic year 2026/27. The consultation will run from 22nd November 2024 to 17 January 2025, in accordance with the Department for Education's School Admissions Code.

Why are we consulting?

This review and consultation are part of the Government's expectation that all schools review their admissions arrangements at least once every seven years to ensure they remain fair, transparent, and consistent. While the proposed changes are not significant, this consultation offers stakeholders the opportunity to provide feedback on our updated policy.

Proposed Changes

We are not making significant changes to the admissions arrangements. However, the following updates are proposed:

1. Consistency across all schools: We aim to align the wording of admission criteria across the four Local Authorities served by the Trust to ensure clarity and fairness.

2. Children of staff members: Introducing a priority for children of staff employed at the school, in all policies and in line with statutory guidelines.

How to Respond

We welcome feedback from all stakeholders, including parents, carers, local authorities, schools, and community members. To review the proposed admissions policy please click on the link below:
